a race

IMG_0034

Our stake did a 5K race for mercy which a shelter for women and children in the area. Chris and baby ran in the race! While I helped out with the Fun Run for kids as well as our Super Saturday.

Yeah! way to go guys!

It was a beautiful day! We had a cookout with games like kickball, ultimate frisbee and other outside games! It was a good one.

too young...still...

My_HipstaPrint_4

now that baby is a month into crawling he has decided that walking would be much more fun!

My_HipstaPrint_3

at 8 months he likes to pull up on furniture and take steps along as well as away. I cannot believe that we are now worried about stairs and shelves and everything else he can reach. He is still just a baby. But I do love that he cuddles a little more and likes to climb up and all over. He is a busy boy!

My_HipstaPrint_2

thinking about these....

"walk by faith in a world governed by sight."

I love this quote and have been thinking about how much I struggle to simply move forward without being able to see where these experiences are taking me.
he loves his daddy

And as I prepare for a speaking assignment at church in the next few weeks I have been reading and thinking about unity. And this quote has stuck with me....

"May God bless us to realize that an important measure of our progress in coming unto Christ is to be found in how well we treat others, especially those who are different."

For the church of Jesus Christ we belong to a "culture" that is very judgemental and exculsive it feels at times and I love this simple statement. If we could all judge a little less, reach out and love a little more. That is the doctrine of Christ and I love how simple it really is.

IMG_0069

I see this church in the city and pass it often. I love the bronze steeples that have turned green and the simple red brick. It is about half way between home and the office as well as about half way from baby's visits and home.

music

capo loves music! he is so busy physically but when he hears an instrument or someone singing he will stop and sit still and listen. it really is amazing because he is just so busy and nonstop. at church he will be out cold asleep and when we start to sing he will open his eyes and just listen.
IMG_2798
we do not have too many noisey toys but we love the wooden ones and it has been fun to see capo's reaction to some of these instruments.

IMG_2797
this love for music comes from chris for sure. i love music but chris is the singer and musician in our family!

teething...

capo is teething. and this has changed everything in the house; diapers, sleep, habits at night and day! we were once so spoiled that at 7 weeks he was sleeping through the night. last weekend he woke up screaming every hour and has done that for about a week. I am exhausted. 6 hours a night interupted sleep is just not doing it for me. we will get past this stage though, soon!
IMG_0023
and even though he is not feeling well capo is so happy and smiley. i took him to the doctor this week to make sure he did not have an ear infection because so many things have changed (and no he does not) but the doctor was shocked that this happy, smiley little boy was out of sorts.
it has also been a struggle with bio-mom visits.we are to trying to stick to some kind of a schedule which at this point where sleep is a struggle we need a schedule more than ever! his needs simply put are not taken into consideration. but we make it through each one even if we have to struggle the rest of the day and night. poor kid.

IMG_0018-1

these are pictures of him sleeping which is maybe not the best representation when we are so lacking in sleep but he is so sweet and loving. lately he has been making this kissy face a lot! people will stop us in the store commenting on how they love that he blows kisses to others. (i never say that he really is unvolunteerly making that face and just say yep! he is really cute and funny. thanks!)

he loves rice, baby food, ice cream-really anything solid that is not milk any more. too cute!

i feel like i get very little done in the day when i am so tired! but work, church and the house do not stop so the balance has to change and we re-adjust.

IMG_0010

like sleep when and where i can!
