service auction

IMG_0046

for the last several years our little branch has hosted a service auction where the members will donate services like food, babysitting, dates, lessons of various sorts (music, piano, languages, computers), really all kinds of activities and fun things come into the auction. To get fake money to bid on the items people have to bring Thanksgiving food to donate. This year we had 28 turkeys and were able to provide food for families all over Rochester; not just members of our church. It was really fun! Chris was the auctioneer again and did a fabulous job.

This year was extra special because we were served a homecooked meal. Ham, potatoes, veggies and dessert. It was so good! And then we got to hand deliver these boxes to some of the families I work with. It was a great way to remember the real reason for the season.
